Great organization dedicated to the care of the animals! Staff is always helpful and recommends other resources to help. Their adoption process is much better than other places I have been to. Here they make sure you actually have individual time with the animals instead of stuck in a group of people all looking at once. It also seems like a more comfortable process for the animals too! You get to actually bond with the animal to make sure it’s the right fit for you, and the staff takes the time to actually find out what your needs are. You can tell the organization genuinely cares about the community.

We always suggest that you try to find a permanent home for your pet yourself and use a shelter as your last resort. Shelters should be reserved for animals that are lost or living on the streets. Click the link below to list your pet on a site for pets that need to be re-homed: https://humanesocietynmb.org/surrendering-an-animal/ If you have exhausted all of your resources, please call us to see if we have space available to accept your pet.
Best to go by there. Check their website humanesocietynmb.org
No clinic on site. They will however, determine if you're AT NEED and can write a "coupon" for a low cost spay/neuter at a sponsoring vet office.
HSNMB does not operate a public vet clinic. Please contact Horry County Animal Care Center or Grand Strand Humane Society.
Anytime there is an emergency involving animals, contact the police department for the area in which the emergency is occurring. If it is in the City of North Myrtle Beach, call 843-280-5511.
The answer is YES, you must have an appointment to see a specific animal.
Please call Animal Control at 843-280-5511.

We accept volunteers ages 11 & up (ages 11 & 12 must have a guardian with them). For more information on our volunteer program, visit www.hsnmb.org
We are not hiring at this time, but you can always submit an Employment Application so that we have it on file in the event a position becomes available. You can find the application here: https://humanesocietynmb.org/employment-application/
Unlike many other states, South Carolina has not banned the owning of wild species. So some people do keep wild animals as pets. If you believe these animals are suffering or pose a health risk, please contact the Horry County Animal Control Department at 843-248-1520.
Not sure about that. Do know they have a program to help with cost of spay or neutering.
We do not have a clinic at our facility so we do not offer veterinary services. If you need recommendations, please give us a call at 843-249-4948.
We have traps that you can borrow. There is a REFUNDABLE $50 deposit to borrow them. Unfortunately, we had to start taking the deposits because people were not returning them to us. We do not have a public clinic here at our shelter. Check with Grand Strand Humane Society of Horry County Animal Care Center.
We are open today as usual. Our website lists our hours of operation correctly as follows: Sunday: Closed Monday: Closed Tuesday: 11am - 5pm Wednesday: 11am - 5pm Thursday: 11am - 6pm Friday: 11am - 6pm Saturday: 11am - 4pm
I stay 1 mile from the nmb human society
Not that i am aware of. You can call ask to speak to a staff member they will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
They do not have a vet on staff so they dont so surgeries on site but there is a public assistance program based on your income that can help you get it done at a reduced rate with one of the local vets. Grandstrand Humane Society does have a vet on staff so they do surgeries on site
Call them and Grand Strand humane. I' m sure one of them have a little furbaby.
Try putting up notice at church - as usual smaller dogs seem to get placed easier. Ask persons friends. Put notice at vet. Take to shelter (please make any donation, if you can)
