PuroClean’s performance was excellent, professional and extremely responsive. The repairs to my home on Bald Head Island NC were challenging. Billy Soots who owns PuroClean did an outstanding job beyond our expectations. He communicated with us daily and did everything required very quickly.

Our cleanup story starts on April 23rd, 2021 with a ruptured water heater in the attic space which sent water at full street pressure into 2 master bathrooms and 2 walk-in closets directly below the water heater. Of course the rooms involved had brand new hardwood flooring finished just 2 weeks before. Water was coming out of the ceilings and through the light and exhaust registers in the master walk-in shower. I was able to shut off the water at the heater. Thank God because It was a 7PM on a Thursday night and we probable wouldn't be getting any help till the next morning. The next morning ee called our insurance company at 8:30 AM and they said to get a restoration company in as soon as possible. PuroClean of Cape Fear was our choice and we couldn't have made a better choice. As soon as we spoke with the owner Billy Soots, he had his crew at the house within the hour and they started the job by taking everything off the walls and even taking out the clothes from the closets. They immediately started the dry out process and with the help of a new water detector scope were able to see the water in the walls and floor. They have since completed our job and the walls are repainted, drywall repairs have been finished and all the closet racks and pictures on the walls have been returned to their proper places. The amount of equipment they used to correct our problem was staggering (heaters, vacuum mats, and more). But even more impressive were the people working for PuroClean. They arrived every day on time were courteous, respectful and tireless in getting everything done and helping us recover from a really traumatic experience. Sorry this was so long but we really wanted people to know how the process worked and how great was our experience with PuroClean of Cape Fear.

Brandon did a great job resurfacing my driveway and parking lot with slate driveway stone. He showed up on time and finished the job under the estimated time. Thank you Brandon!

What happens and what are the effects when water floods my home or business?

Water from outside the structure is contaminated and should be handled be professionals such as PuroClean. Even if the water was not from outside if it is there for an extended time then many materials will need to be removed because of the increased contamination from long-standing water. Drywall will soften and may fall, especially from ceilings. Carpet, pad and other floor coverings may need to be removed. Every situation is different! For the best, specific advice, please call your local PuroClean as soon as the damage is discovered.

To remove soot and smoke from walls, furniture and floors, use a mild soap or detergent or mix together 4 to 6 tbsp. tri-sodium phosphate and 1 cup household cleaner or chlorine bleach to every gallon of warm water. Wear rubber gloves. Be sure to rinse surfaces with clear warm water and dry thoroughly.
