This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first was in 2008 and the second is over the current holiday weekend. I cannot praise this establishment more highly. Covid has affected everyone in different ways, and this isn't my first time staying in a hotel during the pandemic. But it was the first time I suddenly found myself suffering from a concussion and needing to get away from the amazing fireworks display that Aurora puts on. Mr. Patel has been the epitome of hospitality. Anything that has been within his power to assist me with, he has graciously done so. I have always loved the hotel with a free breakfast, and with a near-instant fresh hot pancake maker, several cereals and milk, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, muffins, bread, and a juice machine, even my personal very restricted dietary needs find delicious food to graze on daily. The pool is very warm, and the adjacent shower is fully handicap accessible. Though the wheelchair lift for the pool is currently out of service due to a back-ordered battery, supply chain backorders are prevalent throughout the entire country and I cannot fault anyone for that. The housekeeping team is extraordinarily efficient and very very friendly. Even though there was a fire alarm that went off around 1:00 in the morning one of the nights we stayed, we were able to get out quickly and safely and the Oswego fire department was on scene within 5 minutes to make sure that everyone was okay. I personally have always loved the rustic wood decor that the AmericInn is famous for, which is why I chose to stay at this hotel in 2008 with my now husband. And when we found ourselves in sudden need of a nearby place to get away from a normally fun and exciting experience (Aurora's fireworks display) I could think of no better place to go than here. The proximity to a lot of Oswego shopping is a draw for many, but I personally love that there is a casual sports bar and grill a few hundred feet from the main entrance as well as a Fruitful Yield, an excellent taco store, as well as a Domino's Pizza within one city block. A little further down an adventurous walker or anyone with a car can easily get to several liquor stores, more bars, massage parlors, and all sorts of other shopping and dining. As with any hotel stay, the actual other guests may vary, but if you are the type of person who is dissuaded by random other guests, I would not advise you to stay in a hotel at all. But if you're looking for an affordable, well-kept hotel that is great for both families, travelers, and locals alike, I highly recommend the AmericInn Oswego. And if you're looking for a bit of an upgrade, the rooms with jacuzzi tubs are absolutely worth it 😁

Rooms are perfect, and everything looks clean. Breakfast is a little weak, they have fresh pancakes though. Good staff, very helpful.

The staff is very friendly and the rooms are nice for the price. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is remodeled with new carpet and paint. Bed very comfortable. It was a great place to stay and very comfortable. Very close to the shopping mall. Walking distance to a sports bar. I really enjoyed staying for the last few years.

They claim to have a nice breakfast, it was literally coffee and cereal. Room stunk like old moldy wood. Owners are extremely rude. We were going to stay a week here, but we might have to switch hotels due to lack of a maid cleaning, and pricing. A week stay for $900 this room should be immaculate. Washed a load of clothes $2.50, and then the dryer wouldn’t work. Horrible hospitality, had to beg for clean towels and shampoo/conditioner. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

I tried calling also and got the same busy signal. When I contacted Wyndham's customer service, they got the busy signal as well and were unable to help any further. There are a couple businesses near them -- a bar/restaurant and a state farm office -- that might be able to look across the parking lot and give you more information. A positive review posted in the last few days, so I'm confident the problem is only technical. Just a thought here... With the rain we've gotten in northern IL , perhaps the phone lines are under water. I don't know, though. You can always try booking online or by phone (via Wyndham customer service). Or have you tried email? The hotel is worth the extra effort. I don't give lengthy answers about average hotels. Hope this all turns out well!
