Everyone from Community Hospice was caring and compassionate to my mother and me. Tanya, the nurse gave me updates on my mom, went to the hospital when my mom fell until I could get there, and explained to me what was happening during my mom’s final days. Michelle, the nurse’s assistant took care of my mom’s physical and emotional needs. My mom loved Michelle and felt her love toward mom. Donna, the social worker, came and spent time with mom and called me to keep me informed of her visits. Pastor Johnson, the chaplain talked and prayed with my mom and me. How blessed my mom was to have Community Hospital during her transition to heaven!

Community's Facebook page states, " Our mission is to provide compassionate care and extraordinary service to the patients and families we serve." They sign you up and tell you to read their booklet, which is information you can get by googling “death of a loved one”. The nurses have a checklist-they check the patient over and if the spouse is with the patient they talk to them a minute and check that off. There is no care for the family-during or after. Mom passed 10 days ago and no word from them at all. What would it have hurt for them to at least call and ask if we needed anything? If you’re looking for compassionate care for the family- look to Southeastern Hospice House. Update 7/12/21 - They did call while I was at the courthouse and left a voice mail "regarding a google review". Update 8/16/21 - 47 days after Mom's passing - The "Bereavement Coordinator" calls me Forty Seven Days after Mom has passed to FINALLY, as she said, "check on us". And guess what? The phone call was just another thing for someone to "check off" because when I told her that I was disappointed that no one had called before now- not even a preacher- because we needed them, the only response was "I'm sorry" and "I've been out sick for 2 weeks". Still NO offer to help. NO offer to assist.. NO offers of any services. I was just a phone number on someone's list to call for the day.

Community Home Care & Hospice is by far the best hospice agency in Robeson County. The compassion and care they showed my grandmother was beyond what was expected. The nursing staff as well as social worker & chaplain all provided wonderful care to her and my family as well. I highly recommend this agency if you are looking for hospice care.

With pain and symptom management, as well as education and support, hospice care allows patients and families to focus on what is truly important When Life Matters Most. It is a unique health care approach in which the patient and family are the focus, not the disease. Hospice care helps patients and their families make the most of the time that remains. Hospice is a team of specially trained health care professionals caring for the patient and relieving anxiety for the caregiver/family. Our hospice support team helps patients and families with pain and symptom management, social, emotional, and grief issues. Hospice brings comfort and quality to the remaining months, weeks, and days.
Hospice care is for people who have a life-limiting illness with a life expectancy of six months or less, and have chosen to focus on comfort care over treatment. Hospice works with the patient and family to develop a plan of care specific to their disease and individual needs. Eligibility criteria includes frequent hospitalizations, progressive weight loss, deteriorating mental abilities, frequent infections, and/or an overall decline in condition.
