First time walking a few of the trails and loved every minute of it. We saw a deer and NO gators or bears and I’m thankful for that. 4.5 miles we walked

Beautiful park in an unexpected area. I like Wilmington but I miss real parks with hiking trails. Brunswick Nature does not disappoint! Hiking and biking trails along the water are perfect. It's dirt trails....but me and my 70+ year old parents do it often! And my pup LOVES it. I do not recommend walking the hiking trails if it is busy. Not much room to get out of the way. But the walking only trail is awesome!

What happened to all the dead trees on the waterway in this park? Was it a Blight?

Gayle Hoskins | Sep 21, 2018
John Jordan | Sep 21, 2018

"Ghost trees" are the result of changes in the waterway that change the saltwater line at high tide. Trees that thrive in black water are exposed to saltwater and die off, but the salt also preserves them some.
