This is the most horrible restaurant in San Francisco with extremely rude waitresses. The food was tasteless. The Hainanese chicken rice came without the soup. The curry laksa had too much potatoes as fillers. The worst part of this was we were charged 15% service fees for a horrible meal and extremely poor service. I suggest future customers to go somewhere else for Penang food as there nothing good to speak about.

Ordered from doordash as they came up as an option with existing doordash reviews. Doordash driver called us to let us know the order wasn’t received by the restaurant when we have the receipt and paid. I called the restaurant to ensure it is the same address, phone number and such and they were very quick to say “we don’t do doordash right now” and hung up. Doordash hours says you are open until 8:30 pm which I placed my order way before closing time. On google it says 8 pm is closing so I believe they just want to refuse the order.

We went with little expectation since it is in the touristy part of Chinatown, but still came out disappointed. We ordered Nasi Goreng, Hokkien Mee, SanTun Beef, and dry Tom yum seafood, I held back giving one star just because the Hokkien Mee was pretty good. The dry Tom yum seafood lacked Tom yum flavor and it wasn’t quite dry, the beef consisted of 90% onion + green onion, and I’m pretty sure they gave us shrimp fried rice instead of Nasi Goreng. Overall, very disappointing food and usually with disappointing food, comes with decent service, but Penang lacked that as well.
