I live in SC but purchased some items in CT I got in touch with Tom & Jan at The Packaging Store via email and they responded immediately. Their price was much better than two other companies I called and when I told them my daughter's husband just passed away they were so kind to take the time to send me their condolence's. I will update my review when my package arrives but if they pack and ship as nicely as they handle their calls then I'm sure another 5 stars are coming!!!

Just a little about my experience with Tom and Jan; first let me say I collect old tube radios. Recently I purchased a rare 80+-year-old Zenith console radio from a seller a long days drive away. In an effort to save money on shipping (about $200 saved) I agreed to make the much shorter drive to Stamford to pick up my latest radio at this Packaging Store. On the day I was to drive out to get my radio hurricane/tropical storm Isais was scheduled to impact this area. As a result, I postponed until the next day. The day after the storm Tom and Jan actually made time from coordinating home repairs to accommodate my schedule and arrive time! How awesome is that?!?! These folks were professional and down to earth to deal with... I can't say enough good things about them! No matter what you are shipping, even something as delicate and old as my radio, you can be certain Tom and Jan will take good care of you and provide excellent service. Thank you Tom & Jan!

A complete rip off. I asked for a quote for a small painting won through an auction. They quoted a ridiculous price over $78 and told me $35 was just to pick it up. They are located 1.8 miles away from the auction house, so $35 to pick up is absurd. I priced it through USPS and Fedex and the cost was under $20 for both, $12 and $15 respectively. What they're doing is criminal. Not to mention that they wont just be picking up my item, they will go to the auction house for multiple items, so charging everyone $35 for a pick up charge is bad business for people that would use them over and over again. I'm all for small business owners making a profit but to charge that is unconscionable.

Yes. When your shipment leaves our warehouse, we will provide you with a website address and tracking number that you can use to track the progress of your shipment if available through the carrier.
Our standard turnaround time for domestic shipments is 10-14 business days from pickup to delivery. For our blanket or pad wrap service it ranges from 3 to 10 weeks.
Yes. However, if you pack your own items they are classified as "Packed by Owner" which then can only have declared value coverage for disappearance.
Unfortunately, we do not ship animals of any kind.
Yes, we are licensed and certified by the Federal Maritime Commission. The typical time frame is 4-6 weeks for international ocean shipments and 7-10 days for international air freight shipments.
