Perfect place for weekend get away. Nice hiking trails around the query or to the shore of the ocean. A little bit of history in the park house. Over all nice weekend away from the city. You can see some nice flora and fauna during your walk.

Clean, Clear & spacious trails around the quarry. With plenty of parking ; the views are spectacular. **Impressive. Oceanside trails are marked well in red. Sitting on the granite around the quarry is tranquil as is seeing & hearing the waves crash.

Great spot to visit near Boston ; 40mins drive ; superb view and a good time to wind down.

We enjoyed a wonderful day with a great hike along the ocean. You can also explore the park trails and tide pools. Or have a picnic on the rocky ledges. Learn about the history of Cape Ann's granite industry. However, parking is very limited.

Yes it is accessible. There is no good pavement trails.
Probably (and most definitely) the reason the park is closed at dark is because traipsing around the perimeter of the Quarry under the cover of darkness is perilous at best. One miss step and you would be lucky to survive. There must be plenty other places and opportunities that are safer.
Yeah it's a nice picnic spot as well as beautiful sea beach where people from all age can enjoy the tour.
The visitor center is current closed due to State CV19 policies and the parking lot is being rebuilt
No, biking is not allowed
I don't know if there is a specific picnic area or grills, but I don't think so.
Waterfowl in the quarry daytime. The underbrush and forest is so thick and lush that I'm sure it abounds in animal nightlife.
No
I actually don't have any idea about parking, when it's opening, we've parked at "the lobster pool" for 2 hours as we were there at 9 am.
Free to get in, though the parking requires a fee.
Beach diving is difficult in surf. With those rocks and serious undertow you would be much better off diving from a boat. Keep the boat a good distance from the rocks.
Not far, 10-15 min. Worth the drive. Enjoy! @livinouradventure
The path is wide enough and a pretty easy stroll. I do not recall any steps. The gravel path has a slight steady incline. If you have help, you should be able to make it in a wheelchair. There are several areas with views along the path including the quarry and well worth the adventure. We watched sunset and it was beautiful! Previous review mentions difficult to get to the ocean, we did not go to the ocean or even take that path. You have 2 choices and 1 is to the lookout (what we did) or 2 the beach. Try sunset and stay on the path to the lookout.
No. Just leisure walking and scenery enjoyment with nature. A little regional history as well.
I believe it is open year round... might want to check website
It is a fresh water quarry, but you can walk down a trail if you want, to a rocky ocean . Its not a beach. There are other normal beaches in town, a 5 minute drive south from Hallibut. No swimming in the quarry. There is a quarry museum there too, has bathrooms.
Yes, be careful if your dog runs, there is no fence around the quarry. (Watch your kids too!)
