I did not buy my wedding dress from this shop, but I brought my wedding dress to this shop for my alterations. My first appointment was a couple months before my wedding, Doreen made all of the correct adjustments for me and my dress came out perfect! She even sewed in a sweet memorial on the bottom of my dress in honor of my grandfather. She also gave me lots of advice that I didn’t even know I needed to know about my dress, I’m so glad I went to her! The week before my wedding I was worrying that my dress wasn’t fitting me right, so I called Doreen and she fit me in the next day and showed me how to wear my dress so that it fit properly. She was very helpful, kind, and her prices for alterations were great. I had a great experience here and I am happy with the way my dress was taken care of for my wedding!

This was a horrible experience for me. I am a new bride and excited to be married. As we arrived for my appointment we knocked on the the door and Doreen came out looked at us and said it would be a few more minutes. When she finally came out to open the door and the way she looked at us, from then it was not a pleasant experience. For those that have seen the movie "Selena" will know what I mean. We finally walked in and the shop was not inviting, it was un-organized, dresses everywhere, those that had orders or dresses their personal information was there with their sales invoices that was visible it was just plain messy there. I began to try to look at dresses and right away she glanced at me and said you might just have to try on this dress to get your size. She also said I know I don't have any dresses in your size just this one. IT was nothing that I wanted. Even if there was something that I could have liked it was a dress that was discontinued. The dresses are not organized by size nor style. Prior to making my appointment I asked her if she had a variety of plus sizes and she said yes. I got the dress she gave me because there was nothing I was interested in, went into a small fitting room that had a small fan (because it was hot in there) and to explain it better it was like another closet because there were more wedding dresses in there and a roll-able clothes rack. I knew right away I did not want to spend any more time there because I felt that she did not want to help me at all. This was not a welcoming experience. Maybe because we were not the right skin color, or because I am considered a plus size bride. I felt very discriminated based on my appearance and skin color. Doreen even made a comment to my Maid of Honor while I was in the fitting room trying to try on a dress, and whispered to my maid of honor, "word of advice before you make any other future appointments to try on dresses you may want to call ahead and make sure they carry your sizes."This comment was very unwelcome, unnecessary, rude and inconsiderate of a persons feelings. Everyone comes in different shapes and sizes and God created a woman perfect in his eyes. However society and this world has categorized woman in many classes. This is why we have girls at a young age with body images. If she had something to say she should have told me to my face rather than whisper to my maid of honor. Did she think I was not going to find out about what she said? I had already experienced quality service that morning at another location, prior to my appointment with her, and I was hoping to receive the same customer service or even better from her. As we were walking out because we were only there for about 15 minutes she said well I also do alterations if you find a dress. Really? Do you think I would give Doreen my business and money after finding out what she had said. This was not fairy Godmother experience as her website said. It was more the wicked Stepmother experience. Word of Advice, if you are a plus size bride do not waste your time going to this place you will not be treated equally. So glad I found dress elsewhere and took my business somewhere where they treat you with respect and do not discriminate you against your size, color of skin and race. I walked out feeling worse about my body image.

I cannot say enough great things about my experience with Doreen and her shop! I came in with a very specific idea for the style bridal gown I wanted. In fact, Doreen had ordered a dress I saw online through her catalog free of charge, and it was ready for me when I arrived for my appointment. However, this style that I envisioned didn’t work well for my body type. Doreen was kind and patient as my mom and I looked at various gowns ands styles. She expertly guided us through this process so much that I felt beautiful the whole time, and she helped me maintain my confidence in finding the perfect dress, which I did! Doreen absolutely knows what she is doing and what style of dress looks good on a body. The dress I found is not a style I initially considered, but she brought out this beautiful gown and recommend I try it. The moment I saw myself in the mirror wearing this dress, I teared up. I saw myself walking down the aisle to my fiancé in this dress and I knew it was it. I would not have found my perfect dress without Doreen’s sage advice. I encourage women of all ages to come here to find the gown you’ll love and to have a wonderfully positive experience!
