Definitely a spread open water fall. Weather was perfect for checking it out. Broken glass present on trails. A bit of trash left behind by others. All our group left behind were foot prints.

Been going to Shacktown falls since the 90's. Beautiful place to get some solitude and the falls are loud enough to drown out the world's chaos.

Nice little water fall close to the road. Great for very short walks on 2 little trails. Enjoyed sitting on a rock out in the water

We went because of the trail along the river. But it was not quit a quarter of a mile. Yes, the falls are nice, but not spectacular. Climb up the rocks on the road side of the falls and the river view you can see about 150 yards to the bend. No tables, picnic shelter or toilets. Closed at night - no lights.

Yes just have a license to do so and respect any swimmers near the falls. Probably too cold for swimming this time of year anyway.
Not legally. No. People do it though; there's even a small makeshift "grill" in the ground. I personally have not; but from what I've heard you would probably wind up with some drunken teenage company.
No its right by where you park and yes you can swim there
It was torn down over 75 years ago. But I have posted a painting that was done by an artist back in 1946 that captures the essence of what it looked like.
