This Safeway in Petaluma is so different from the smaller one in Santa Cruz that I had been shopping at before moving. I love it! It's really big and if you go early in the day you can find almost everything you need. I will definitely keep shopping there. They also have a wonderful customer service desk where you can get money orders and more. It is my new one stop shopping place. UPDATE 7/22 Still loving Safeway!

I love this Safeway. It's spacious, clean, stocked, customer service isn't as uncomfortable as the Rohnert Park location. I had a messed up experience this morning, which shocked me quite a bit, considering that I'm a regular customer and usually interact with same workers there. First, I had a minor procedure done that makes it kinda painful to walk. So I called in my breakfast sandwiches while in parking lot (had and appointment I had to get to) A man answered and I asked if I can order two breakfast sandwiches and he hesitated to answer me and then he asked when would you like them by. I said 15 min, he said half an hour because there's a long line already this morning. At first I was like okay, but his tone and negotiation already made me feel like I should just go in store. So I go in. Tell me why there is no line. At all. So I walk to deli counter and greeted Kathy and she already was huffing and a puffing. I work in deli, so I get the job. What I don't get is how you can be rude to customers. Especially regulars that you see regularly. I even made the job easier for her by making the sandwiches exactly the same and settled for a ham that she did not have to cut. Deli workers always get mad if you pick a meat that they have to go and cut because they don't have it up there in the first place with the sandwich meats. I mean come on now we're paying for the sandwiches and I never made a customer feel like it was an inconvenience to go and slice the meat that they want for their sandwiches. I'm not one to ever leave a review I'd rather let the store know without names so it's something that they can work on. But this happens way too much and it feels uncomfortable.

Safeway is okay but it's turning into more of a select store than a grocery store. The brands I'm used to buying ever since I was young are now being taken out in place of Safeway select brands. I have since started shopping at other stores that have the brands I am looking for after shopping at Safeway for 32 years or more.
