Yes its called CIT or (Crisis Intervention Training). The training gives Officers a different perspective and teaches them signs of someone who is either mentally ill or experiencing a manic episode. CIT also gives Officers a litany of resources they can use at their disposal. Those resources are comprised of professionals who are trained in dealing with those who are mentally ill. It is a week long training that last about 8 hours a day.
