Do you have any Lexington High or Pilot High School year books dating 1943 - 1944? Thank you in advance for any help. Patricia England

P England | Sep 19, 2021
Davidson County Public Library | Sep 19, 2021

Lexington Public Library's Genealogy Department (336-242-2040) has the 1943 and 1944 yearbooks for Lexington High School. These also are available in digital format on DigitalNC.org The Fairgrove High School yearbooks are located at the Thomasville Public Library (336-474-2690). I'm hoping that's what you're looking for. They have the 1943, 1945, 1946, 1948, 1949 yearbooks but not 1944. DigitalNC.org has The Twig, the name of that yearbook, from 1948 and 1949 and some years in the 1950s but not all of them. I hope this helps! :)

Hello. Good afternoon, my 11-year-old daughter and I would like to visit a bookstore here in Lexington. We come from Central America but we like to read. What are the requirements to have access to this library?

Jasmin Portillo | Apr 22, 2022
Davidson County Public Library | Apr 22, 2022

Hello! Welcome to Lexington! We love to see that you are looking to use the Library and it is very easy to get a Library card. For Adults we only require identification with current home address or a bill of payment with your home address. For children, only the relatives present are needed to register them. If there are any other questions we have someone who speaks Spanish here.

I have a book that needs renewing, can I do it on line without an account?

Shirley Bunce | Apr 22, 2022
Davidson County Public Library | Apr 22, 2022

Hello, As long as there are no holds, items automatically renew twice. It looks like your book automatically renewed and is now due April 16. Next time you're in the branch, be sure to ask a staff member to show you how to check online for the status of your account. Have a great rest of the day, and keep reading! :)

Live out of state. Want to do some family tree research via your library. Is this something that is doable. Thank you, Patricia England

P England | Jan 22, 2022
Davidson County Public Library | Jan 22, 2022

Hello! Thank you for your question. I recommend calling 336-242-2040 during operating hours and asking for Genealogy. Someone there will be happy to talk with you. That area is open 9-5:30 each weekday except Thursday when it’s open until 8. Please keep in mind we’re closed for the MLK holiday on 1/17/22.

I got my first library card when I was in middle school. All of my info is the same, and I just purchased a replacement card. Is there a way to reset my PIN number? I don’t remember it. I need it to sign into an app.

Caroline Hamby | Sep 19, 2021
Davidson County Public Library | Sep 19, 2021

Hello! Try the last four digits of the primary phone number you provided the library. If that doesn’t work, contact your local branch, and someone there should be able to help you reset your password.

Thank you for your question, Angel. Each branch has a different email address. I suggest calling the branch nearest you, and a staff member should be able to help. The email address they will give you will depend on what service you need. Here's a link to contact information for each branch: https://www.co.davidson.nc.us/279/DCPL-Library-Branches Also, Davidson County Public Library branches currently are open normal hours. The one exception is the Lexington Public Library which is undergoing a renovation. We invite Lexington patrons to visit the mini-branch located across the parking lot in an adjacent building. Look for the sign indicating the temporary location. Hours there are Monday-Friday, 9-5:30 and Saturday, 10-2. The mini-branch offers all the normal services and a limited collection of new materials. Thanks again!
