Hello! Thank you for your question. Yes, you can check the availability of a book by clicking on this link to the library's online catalog: https://davidson.nccardinal.org/eg/opac/home Also, you are welcome to call your local branch for assistance. Here's a link to our website, a starting point for information for each branch, including phone numbers and hours of operation: https://www.co.davidson.nc.us/274/Library Have a great day!
Hello! Thank you for your question. The newly renovated Lexington Public Library is fully open with regular hours. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Lexington Public Library's Genealogy Department (336-242-2040) has the 1943 and 1944 yearbooks for Lexington High School. These also are available in digital format on DigitalNC.org The Fairgrove High School yearbooks are located at the Thomasville Public Library (336-474-2690). I'm hoping that's what you're looking for. They have the 1943, 1945, 1946, 1948, 1949 yearbooks but not 1944. DigitalNC.org has The Twig, the name of that yearbook, from 1948 and 1949 and some years in the 1950s but not all of them. I hope this helps! :)
Hello! Welcome to Lexington! We love to see that you are looking to use the Library and it is very easy to get a Library card. For Adults we only require identification with current home address or a bill of payment with your home address. For children, only the relatives present are needed to register them. If there are any other questions we have someone who speaks Spanish here.
Hello, As long as there are no holds, items automatically renew twice. It looks like your book automatically renewed and is now due April 16. Next time you're in the branch, be sure to ask a staff member to show you how to check online for the status of your account. Have a great rest of the day, and keep reading! :)
Hello! Thank you for your question. I recommend calling 336-242-2040 during operating hours and asking for Genealogy. Someone there will be happy to talk with you. That area is open 9-5:30 each weekday except Thursday when it’s open until 8. Please keep in mind we’re closed for the MLK holiday on 1/17/22.
Hello! Try the last four digits of the primary phone number you provided the library. If that doesn’t work, contact your local branch, and someone there should be able to help you reset your password.
If you go this URL, you should see instructions for ordering a transcript: https://davidsonnc.scriborder.com/ This should be sufficient for a job. Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello! Thanks for your question! All branches of the Davidson County Public Library are open. Hours at each of the five locations are available here: https://www.co.davidson.nc.us/274/Library Please note the Lexington Public Library facility currently is closed for renovation. A temporary location is located across the parking lot from the branch in the adjacent building.
Call the Library
Thank you for your question, Angel. Each branch has a different email address. I suggest calling the branch nearest you, and a staff member should be able to help. The email address they will give you will depend on what service you need. Here's a link to contact information for each branch: https://www.co.davidson.nc.us/279/DCPL-Library-Branches Also, Davidson County Public Library branches currently are open normal hours. The one exception is the Lexington Public Library which is undergoing a renovation. We invite Lexington patrons to visit the mini-branch located across the parking lot in an adjacent building. Look for the sign indicating the temporary location. Hours there are Monday-Friday, 9-5:30 and Saturday, 10-2. The mini-branch offers all the normal services and a limited collection of new materials. Thanks again!
We currently are offering curbside pick up of items at all our locations, including Lexington. You can call in advance to order books, DVDs, and audiobooks or place holds in the library's online catalog which can be found here: https://davidson.nccardinal.org/eg/opac/home Additionally, we offer the following services via curbside: printing, faxing, scanning, and copying. If you're picking up items in Lexington, a pick-up table is located just outside the mini-branch which is located in the building across the parking lot from the main branch. Look for the sign that says "Temporary Location." Also, we are allowing patrons inside branches, including Lexington's mini-branch, to use computers in 1/2-hour increments. Also, we have a vast assortment of electronic resources: e-books, e-audiobooks, movie streaming, free music, etc. Start here to begin exploring: https://www.co.davidson.nc.us/274/Library Thank you for your question! Feel free to call if we can help in any way!
Yes, all our locations are providing printing services and currently have the same hours: 9-5:30, Monday - Friday and 10-2, Saturday.
Hello! At this time, we have suspended the sale of used books. However, we are looking to offer it again in future phases. Please check back!
We offer Kanopy and the North Carolina Digital Library for video streaming. Unfortunately, that series is not available on either. However, you can place a hold in our catalog on the first season in DVD format through a sister library system in another part of the state. It will be shipped to your local branch at no cost. Please call your local branch for assistance should you need it.
