We had a blast at Dog World!!! I wish more people knew about this place!! We visited for the first time on a weekend in September and it wasn't crowded. We made a "reservation" the day of and we were worried it would take a while to be approved, but it was very quick! We uploaded all of our pup's vaccines and info, then I called and the staff said they receive a notification to approve vaccines once they're uploaded, and when they're approved they send a confirmation email. "Reservations" are available every 5 minutes - it's designed to control the flow of traffic so 20 dogs don't show up at the same time. They request a card on file when you sign up but they do not charge until after you pass the temperament test. $35 for the first day (extra $10 for trainer test) and $25 regular entry fee. Most dog parks are free so this is hard to justify, but consider the upkeep needed to keep this amazing location running, and the amount of fun our pup was worth every cent! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and trainers. They understand many dogs are leash-reactive so they have precautions to prevent leash greetings and other concerns. (THANK YOU!!!) The temperament test is for first-time visitors. They have a medium, fenced grass area where the trainer and the greeting dog meet and discuss rules. They color code dogs by behavior (ball-chaser versus wrestler, elderly dogs, etc.) so you know the temperament of all the other dogs in the park. Our wrestling orange pup had a ton of fun with his orange friends!! Start with the huge fenced-in grass area for pups to run and play, with a small pond that is dyed to prevent algae growth. They can also provide access to a creek area that is not fenced, but we did not explore this. Stop between sections to rinse the pond water off your pup before entering the swimming pool area. This is a slanted, in-ground pool that's partly filled with CLEAN water. We spent nearly all of our time here, chasing dogs chasing balls from the shallow to the deep end of the pool. BONUS, this area has an old putt-putt course-turned dog obstacle course. There are also two small isolated pools if your pup doesn't like swimming with others or needs to get used to the water first. Go back into the grassy field anytime, or go through a gate beyond the concessions (drinks only for the hoomans) for two water slides designed for dogs. Only the longer slide was active when we went, and these are shallow enough that (although our chicken-dog didn't want to) dogs can actually walk down the slide with water flow and jump into a small pool with play balls. Pass between this gate and the main pool area as many times as you want. On your way out grab a free pup cone (or buy extra toppings π) and head to the dual-fence exit, where pups can eat without other dogs. Just another fantastic safety precaution to keep everyone safe. TL;DR - this is a FANTASTIC park with awesome staff that we will visit as many times as we can. Can't say enough about how much we love this place.

I drove down to Charlotte from Maryland to meet a friend halfway from Alabama and I wonβt lie, Dog World was a big (if not the biggest) factor on why we chose to spend the weekend here. And it definitely was worth the hype and exceeded all expectations! This was my first time taking my dog to an off leash dog park as the ones where I live are too small with not much space to run around leading to some fights, so I was definitely a little nervous at first. But the space the dogs have to run around in is huge, and thereβs so many things for them to do so I quickly forgot any worries I had. Maya truly had one of the best days ever and swam for the first time. And she was pooped for the rest of the day. Every employee was super friendly as well. I hope we can come back someday!

We are open year round!
Not sure. Check their fb page. It send a message.. I'm wondering if they might be open around Thanksgiving ..
There are several reasons and they're all safety related. First, we our swimming pools and pond are for dogs so we do not have lifeguards for humans. Second, a child could be injured by a dog running or jumping. Third, while we temperment screen all the dogs that come into the park we have no way to temperament screen for their behavior with children. We feel that at age 12 children are mature and responsible enough to behave appropriately with dogs and large enough to not be injured. I hope that answers your question!
You puppy has to be at least 5 months old AND have had final vaccinations at least 2 weeks prior to coming to the park. We do have separate small dog areas and small dog pools!
Yeah for our dog's assessment. We where early and they got us in when we got there. They want you to stay within site of your dog. Yes have records with you. Other rules are similar common dog sense stuff.
