We first met Tom on our painting job (he did the bathroom floor) we loved the floor and the job they did. We were redoing our kitchen and wanted his advice on floors. He gave us great advice and we took the next step and called Nancy. From start to finish Nancy was friendly, informative, patient, even through the limited hours, she was very accommodating. There are several products that are designed for pets. Many of today's Carpet offer extra protection specifically for pet urine and will mention that in their warranties. Laminate is know for being extremely scratch resistant...many products having a commercial grade wear-layer...or Abrasion Class. Look for an AC layer with a rating of at least 4. The draw back of Laminate is that it is rarely stands up well to moisture. Several company's...including Shaw and Johnson Hardwood have made some improvements in this area. Luxury Vinyl Planks and Tiles are offered as a water-proof solution. The wear- layers on these products are getting more and more durable...some of which are matching the Abrasion Class of Laminate. All indications are this product is where flooring is going. The realism in the visuals is remarkable compared to just a few years ago.
Luxury Vinyl Plank and Tile is a great solution for areas where spills may be a concern. LVP and LVT are completely water-proof and more visually stunning that ever before. Scratch resistant and warmer under foot than tile...this product is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds.
New carpet is the lowest VOC-emitting flooring choice available. It actually acts as a passive air filter, trapping dust, pollen and other particles and removing them from the breathing zone. Studies have shown that people with asthma and allergy problems have seen symptoms improve with carpet. CRI
