Rather than air my personal gripes in winning a bid with Bullseye, I'd rather give tips for people to avoid making similar mistakes. Trust but verify, and when you can't verify, stick to a number you'd be okay with randomly losing. If at all possible, which in some cases it may not be, inspect prior to bidding. If products are electrical or mechanical and likely very expensive, ensure working condition and inclusion of necessary accessories such as KEYS without which you cannot use those crucial purchases. The words "Bulk Sale" do NOT mean you are getting everything that a certain business or individual left behind. If there are grouped items as a category without itemization, don't get your hopes up- these are people that verify the value in things you might even consider niche, so if it was worth mentioning in that list, it would have been. All the real valuables are sold separately, and you are bidding on the leftovers, so be sure to treat it as such. Lastly, It is a giant red flag for the terms / items included in the lot to change AFTER bidding has begun (let alone if those items happen to magically reappear after bidding CLOSES but aren't included in the lot anymore). Whether this violates the terms of an auction, I wouldn't know, but it surely bends the ethical codes of commerce. Will say there is one gentleman (believe to be the owner) who acted in good faith as a professional, and one individual who was histrionic in both behavior and speech who has me questioning whether I was purposefully and successfully misled. Im certain they have some fantastic lots up for bid, I just happen to be the winner of a pretty lousy lot who primarily has myself to blame, and maybe these pointers will help another novice bidder avoid such a mistake.

Questions & Answers

Don't understand why advertised auctions are secret. Advised by Mr Salmon at Bullseye that Sureheat auction over and he could not tell me who to call and find out about buying some parts. Spoke as if it were proprietary information?

Mr. Hightower, nothing about our auctions is secretive. All auctions are publicly advertised and participated in by all who properly register. What you asked for was a list of the buyers so that you could buy some parts from them. That's against our privacy policy and completely inappropriate. I doubt if you'd want me to share your contact info with someone without your consent. I hate that you missed the auction but hope you understand our unwillingness to share the personal information of our customers. Good luck in your search.
