This was an unusual experience. For whatever the reasons, they were significantly understaffed. Yet there was no fault finding, complaining or anxious rushing. Instead, the staff carried on to provide delicious food under the unusual circumstances they found themselves. It was a long wait, yet I saw them function in multiple roles, deal with a rather large in store order and keep their cool. I even observed great kindness to customers. Well done!

Twice now our takeout orders have been messed up. The first time we took it back and asked for the right thing. The guy at the counter straight up ignored us. He didn’t even look up to acknowledge our presence. I had to flag down a girl walking by to get help. The girl that was preparing takeout orders was hostile and didn’t believe there was any possible way on earth that she could have messed up an order even though I had the order printout in my hand and the items that didn’t match the slip. The second time they messed it up, we didn’t bother to take it back. We’ll just go to a different restaurant next time.

This location is near a Trader Joe’s and some other great shopping off of Union Park Avenue. Plenty of parking and rarely too busy. The staff is generally helpful, but doesn’t have the best customer service of other Cafe Rio stores that I have visited. I even got to chat with the manager once and he was pretty dismissive when I brought an issue to his attention. And I get it, nobody wants to be told how to run their restaurant, but listening to customer’s is an important aspect to running a business. A little better leadership and training would take this Cafe rio location to much better bottom lines.Hi Kyle! Thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback!
