The entire experience from start to finish was awesome. The crew at Hallman is very attentive and knowledgeable. Our trees arrived one day after they were shipped, and the quality is outstanding. They are big, well-kept, and high quality products that you don't always...or even sometimes...see from other nurseries. Will certainly be buying from them again!

Good deals. Healthy trees and shrubs. Nice people.

They have all the trees you need for your deer/wildlife plantings. Super friendly and easy to work and communicate with. 10/10

GREAT trees at a GREAT price. Benny is also a kind, knowledgeable fellow who clearly has years and years of experience. Couldn't recommend more highly. (I got a live oak, several pears, and some leland cyprus trees to help block neighbors' view into our driveway. ;)

Hello Calvin. Pears are the hardiest and normally most productive soft mast for deer. Followed by crabapples and then apples. Hard mast is usually sawtooth oak and chestnut are the heaviest used since they have quick production. Best to plant in the late fall /winter-early spring here. They will do better if you can plant them late fall/winter because they will be more settled in with feeder roots when they try to grow come spring. You can grow hybrid chestnuts here which is a cross between American and Chinese chestnuts. True American chestnut is almost wiped out from blight. The Chinese seems to do better with less problems. Hope this helps you.
We do have some white oaks in containers. 1 gallon, 3 gallon , and 7 gallon pots. The only chaste trees we have are a few left in large ball and burlap trees. Have to dig them in 40 inch balls about 1200 lbs each. Thanks.
