Warning!!!after this post if you still decide to eat here please look over your food for hair!!!!! Took my wife and daughter here and had a horrible experience!!! The food wasn't disgusting but was not worth the price at all! The service wasn't good neither, my issue to all of this was my daughter's food had hair from one of the employees in her fries as she was eating it!!!! The waitress looked at it and just said oh, would you like me to bring more fries out, we had them make the entire meal over, and not one time did a manager come to apologize for this disgusting situation!! Of course we will never eat here again but I just hope someone else doesn't have this horrible treatment of service done to them!!! I don't do reviews let alone bad reviews, but this was unacceptable at all levels of business!!! And yes I still paid full price for this horrible meal/service! Even left a tip!

Yesterday I visited Hunter Gatherer on Main St with my fiancé for the first time since the lockdown. Because of the convenient proximity to UofSC campus, we had been frequent guests in the years before. Chef Lee Henshaw is still producing incredible food; the quality that comes out of that kitchen is consistent and delicious! The Hunter Gatherer has a wonderful menu, but where this restaurant really shines is in the specials. Chef Henshaw creates the most amazing, mouth-watering dishes. They are continually unique (he covers the gambit of international flavors) and loaded with fresh ingredients. I could not recommend his food enough. The atmosphere of HG is rustic and laid-back. The beer is delicious and Marty, the long time bar manager, has a happy and bubbly personality that is a joy to be around. If I sound like I'm going overboard with this review, it's because this restaurant is a wonderful gem of the Columbia community and it deserves a visit!

The burger with truffle fries was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed their IPA as well.
