I am a huge animal person. My husband cringes when he sees a little white box from PetsMart. Haha! The staff is friendly and personable with the animals. Knowledgeable, too. We have a tortoise, a bearded dragon and a conure from here. All healthy and very happy!

Look I like this place and have shopped here regularly for years but, I've noticed that they have started keeping conures. This is alarming. Conures are a different class of bird than parakeets or finches, they have very high social needs. They will commonly develop mental issues and will stress themselves out without enough attention or bonding. The lack of this can even lead to death or extreme sickness. I support this company for most things... but this sort of animal needs to be sold by professional breeders that understand the specialized needs of this caliber of bird. Please stop selling and stocking these birds the way they are kept and isolated is quite harmful to this species. Stick to parakeets and finches that don't have the same specialized needs. Thank you for your time and I wish much success.

Sometimes they do.. Right now the Shelters are busting at the seams with pets (dogs & cats). If PetSmart doesnt have kittens then please please please go to a shelter near u.
Sometimes they do and they work with The Charleston Animal Society (whick is wonderful). But I urge you to look up Frisky Business Rescue on Facebook. They Rescue dogs, puppies, cats, & kittens. I was overwhelmed with going to shelters and wanting to Rescue every single animal there. But on Feb 11th, I found my (now 7month old puppy 🐶) I named Lil Betty White from Frisky Business Rescue. I highly recommend them. It was the best adoption I've ever done due to the way they make sure you are matched with your new best friend. Betty is now officially registered as my Service Animal! 🐶🐕🐱🐈🐈⬛

On some adoption days i have seen them brought by organizations not by Petco
They don't keep dogs there all the time to my knowledge. However, they so have frequent adoption weekends and bring in bunches of dogs from rescue groups.
