We've brought all of our dogs here for many years. The dogs run free, splash around in the brook and always seem to have a great time. It's a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. There are shaded walking trails and the park is unfenced, so you need to keep a sharp eye on your pet. There is seating and a few tables and several poop bag dispensers. Separate fenced-in area for small dogs. We love the Southbury Dog Park ~ many thanks to O&G Industries for providing this amazing space!

Amazing park. Swimming for doggies in the river, trails are fun, big fields for play. Goldie loves it.

Brought my dog and son here, it is hands-down the PERFECT summer ace for you and your four legged bestie, lol. Beautiful grounds, constant access to the little lake and great little trails!

No.
The small-dog area (under 25 lbs.) is fenced in, but the larger park (14 acres in total) is not. There are "natural" boundaries--dense brush, a river, woods, etc.--but if your dog is a "runner," you should go to a different park. Our park is not associated with any town, but is operated by a non-profit group of 100% volunteers, and everything we do is funded by donations. Fencing in 14 acres--including a river along one side of the park--is beyond our means. We do not hear about many dogs "escaping" from the park--they like being around other dogs and people--but it does happen from time to time.
No charge. We are open to all. The only thing we ask is that you follow the rules, which are posted prominently at the park entrance. We are 100% volunteer run--not affiliated with the Town of Southbury. We depend entirely on donations to operate and maintain the park. At some point, if you care to donate, you may do so on our website or by picking up a donation envelope in the small box at the entrance. We hope you have fun!
