I am actually very disappointed. I was going to make an appointment with Wax By Andrea, but my friend told me about Wax Thread and Scissor. I decided to give them a try. I called them and asked if they had availability for a full leg wax; they were so lovely and said, “sure, come in.” I told them my ETA, called my Uber, and headed that way. I arrived, and no one greeted me or asked if I had checked in; however, I saw other people walk in and were immediately welcomed and acknowledged. I thought nothing of it and just got up and checked in. I sat there and waited. After waiting about 20 minutes, the lady came up and approached a few white people before even acknowledging me. The kind customer had to tell her that I was there first. She looked at me and asked what I wanted done. I said leg wax. She motioned for me to come back. We walked around, and three of them immediately started talking in a language I didn’t understand and were clearly looking bothered and annoyed. I just had to say, “if it’s too much, I could come back.” She immediately says, “ok!” I was shocked! This was the worst display of customer service I’ve experienced in a while. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt the need to let others know so they could make a conscious decision about whether or not to support such an establishment. I am also a social media influencer with 95,450 followers and will take this further than this review. I will also follow up with news outlets about the clearly discriminatory way the ladies in this place treated me. I took a $45 Uber ride from my hotel to this place, only to be turned away without reason. Just an “ok!” Not a “let me reschedule you for another time.” Not an “I’m sorry for the inconvenience!” NOTHING! I believe my friend had a different experience because she, too, happens to be white—shame on you and Shane on management for allowing this type of behavior in your establishment. DO BETTER!
