I was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 38 years, until retiring in August, 2011. Getting hired in July, 1973, my first 26-1/2 years were spent in the now defunct and demolished North Haven, Connecticut facility, before transferring to the Middletown, Connecticut facility in October, 1999 for the remaining 12 years of my employment. I was fortunate to have earned a very reasonable living and income from what's euphemistically called "the fan factory". That nickname given because Pratt & Whitney produces jet engines for civilian, commercial & military aircraft. Over those 38+ years I alternately cursed and praised my employer (who doesn't?), but in the end, it was overall a great place to earn a living. I met, and worked along side of many wonderful people in those years........and of course, a very few not so wonderful people. Even as a retiree I stay in touch with, and have lunch or dinner with some of those characters. I wouldn't trade any of my experiences there for anything.

Thank you, Steve Cordon, for making delivering a piece of cake. Thanks also to the security personnel for their assistance and professionalism as well. I would definitely deliver here in the future if asked to.

They used to get their jet fuel delivered by barge to the pier. Now it's delivered by truck.
