I visited about 10 different senior communities before deciding on Village at South Farms for my aunt. My first impression was that the place was spacious, clean, and bright. Another big selling point was the flexible dining schedules; in too many other places you had a narrow window to dine and limited choices of what to eat. But the most important element was the staff—they really care and treat the residents with respect. It also speaks well of the company that many of the staff have been there for years. Things haven’t always been perfect, but when there’s an issue they are quick to address it. And during the pandemic they have been straight-forward and transparent, promptly notifying me and addressing anything that might put my aunt at risk. It was difficult for my aunt to give up her own place and move here but she came to really love the place. And equally important to me was that South Farms was a place I could trust she would be cared for.

November 9, 2020 To Anyone Considering Assisted Living for a Loved One, If you’re contemplating an Assisted Living Community for a loved one, you should strongly consider contacting the folks at The Village at South Farms (VSF) in Middletown, CT. They were very reassuring and supportive during this uncertain time looking for a place for my father after my mother has just passed. They were very empathetic and helpful without being pushy. They were overly protective with COVID-19 protocols. The process involved a relocation for my father which made for an even more difficult decision. The folks at VSF offered pre-visits before making any commitment to integrate my father into the community to insure he felt comfortable. Now that he’s finally made the move, I can’t begin to tell you how happy he is along with how happy I am. The entire VSF staff in all departments is wonderful, friendly, and caring. They check on him multiple times throughout the day to make sure he’s comfortable and happy. The residents are very welcoming and friendly, and he’s developed new friends in his short time there. Lastly, the community is beautiful and offers a warm, homelike feel. VSF is A Benchmark Senior Living Community allowing for a national scope of expertise and experience making it a better place to live.
