Don't waste your time and money. Not scenic, not the historic trains as shown on website, the old Amtrak we rode in had mold smell, foggy windows and black mold around the windows. Horrible!!!! Thank you to the volunteers but if the brochure had truthfully explained the ride accurately, nobody would ever go.

Hoosac Valley Train Ride is an amazing experience to have when needing a relaxing day out with friends and family. Scenery is just gorgeous. Also the volunteers are friendly and fun. Would recommend this outing to anyone! Had a lovely time.

Let me look into that for you. I highly suggest the Budd Car. Origanally built as a way to combine the locomotive and car together. Powered by 6v71 Detroit Diesel, it's amazing that sound. They also have a ALCO 1952 RS2. (American Locomotive Company)
North Adams has many great places for food and drinks. And Williamstown a few miles west of North Adams also has some really good places for food and drinks.
