My experience, North Adams Registry is # 1 . I walked thru the door , told the guard I was 45 minutes early for my appointment. He found me on his list , even pulled a ticket number for me. The woman was very polite , held a conversation , even put the sticker on my new plate so I would not lose it . I had told her I travelled 1 1/2 hours to get this appointment, so she wished me a safe trip home. We need more Rmv offices like this one. Well worth the long ride !!! I left a happy person .

Just wanted to say that I had a stellar, stress-free experience here! Went to transfer my foreign license for a Massachusetts one and had a great experience at this location. From the officers at the door to the woman helping me with my license transfer, everyone was was super friendly and helpful! I arrived a bit early, everything was smooth and efficient. Colleen who helped me, was very knowledgeable and professional. Ensure that you carry the right documents and you should be done within 10-15 minutes. Overall a very pleasant experience. Kudos to North Adams RMV.

Yes but make sure you ask for a cancellation form as well. They sometimes won't tell you that you need one. I just had to pay 3 years worth of excise tax on a vehicle I wasn't driving because I never filled out that form.

You can get a temporary plate. Despite what the website says you should do it before 3pm as they close at 4pm. You have to submit paperwork. They will call and email you to say you can pick up the temp plates after you have paid online.

I believe once it expires, it's gone. He would have to go take another test and pay the $30 just like the first time.
