It was crazy at first because the link wouldn't work on my phone to take pictures of the truck then I couldn't use cash for the deposit so I had to use my credit card which they said they will issue the money back once I bring the truck back so I hope they credit my card back like they said. Other than that my experience with Rob M was good very nice guy. I recommend this place.

So a U-Haul employee told me I can rent a truck their if I retrieved my stamped temporary Rhode Island license. So I present my stamped Rhode Island license and the employee tells me it’s not stamped. I point to the section of the document that is stamped. He replies “it’s not stamped”. I asked if he meant embossed and he replied yea the stamp with the raised paper 😑… Mind you ~ So speaking with corporate they tell me “they should have never told you that they would accept the document” The employee and the manager make claims that I committing felonies (making copies and forging stamps) and won’t let me rent the truck. When I let them know that 1. They wasted my time and money 2. They are insulting me making claims that I forged government documents, they kick me out of the store. It seems like wasting a customer’s gas, not being educated/updated on their own company policies and procedures (according to my call to corporate) and telling a brand new resident of Rhode Island they are committing crimes are not grounds for an apology. SMDH. They attempted to walk back a bit (for a brief moment) and switched blame to Rhode Island DMV screwing up. They told me the Police are not going to accept this paper I clearly just printed on my home printed (brief moment didn’t last long).They told me because it’s not embossed the police and state troopers won’t accept it. ~~I just moved here On their word I’m panicking and this made me travel to Pawtucket RI Police Department. The police confirmed my papers are valid and the DMV did everything correctly. Pawtucket Police Department had no idea what U-Haul of Pawtucket was talking about. Really upsetting interaction.

3.5 hour wait on hold to talk to a human. That is an unacceptable business practice and the reason I rented from Hertz Penske instead.
