Stayed here for my 31st birthday with my fiancee. Customer service is wonderful. Any issues are resolved quickly. Coffee shop was fantastic (PSL's in JULY). The ability to have firewood and ice delivered to our campsite was an unexpected plus. Campground is quiet, tucked back in the woods. Centrally located within a half-hour of many High Country excursions.

Great place! Good location to the parkway and town. Our family of 3 stayed at the Honeybear campground the week of July 4th in an RV. We had an electric/ sewer/water site and everything worked well. Our site A-11 was at the end of a tightly packed stretch of RV sites. A lot of people seemed to be camping with friends and family so the close quarters worked well for them. We were glad to have the end site to have a little more feeling of privacy. I noticed that several of the other sites did have opportunities to angle their RV in ways that allowed them to create a private space between their RV and some woods or something. The campground was quiet most nights and it was lovely to sleep with the windows open. We really liked the family oriented feeling the campground. Lots of kids running about with friends having good summer fun on the double swing (our 6 year old’s favorite), fishing in the pond, exploring the creek, riding bikes, climbing trees and playing volleyball. The campground also provides family fun activities such as free rot beer floats, nature crafts, dance party, movie night on the lawn and things like that throughout the week. We would definitely stay again. The staff was very helpful and responded swiftly and efficiently to any needs or questions we had. Our only complaint was the tease of the coffee shop. It was never open when we went by. On Friday it had a sign that said, open Saturday 8-10am. We went by Saturday at 8:20 and the doors were locked. We did finally get a coffee Saturday afternoon but our drinks were too sweet for us. My husband asked for cream in his “shot in the dark” drink and they only had flavored creamers. Not a big deal- actually probably preferred for a lot of people. This is not a big deal but we did choose this campground over another and one reason was for the coffee shop so we were disappointed. We will still come back again though!

We first stayed at Honey Bear in 1983, back when they had a pool, and most of the flat land between what is now the campground and the highway was used for tent camping. We used a popup camper back then, the sites near the creek were mostly private and were never all taken. Movies shown in the pavilion during the evening on weekends. Lots of good memories with out young son and daughter. Our last trip in the popup was to celebrate our daughter's college graduation in 1992 until we returned again in our travel trailer last summer, 2021 for four nights. While some of the beauty and tranquility was lost with the front section no longer used for camping, and the pool gone, we still enjoyed our stay and are returning next week (7/10/22) with a site reserved online. We did not use the bathhouse in 2021 so no comments about it's condition. We had no contact with any staff, since reservations and payment were made online, and no one was at the office when we arrived, so we did not have the opportunity to meet and form opinions concerning personalities or helpfulness. There was a packet for us, however, with map, guidelines, etc. We did pick a better site for our return reservation next week, so we will see how things go. We have stayed at other campgrounds off Hwy. 105, but don't like them as much because of the road noise, which you don't hear at Honey Bear. It would be nice to meet the hosts this trip.

I’m not sure how this place has so many 5 star reviews. Our experience is much like the rest of the 1 star reviews. We were part of an 11 person group (including 5 children under the age of 10). There absolutely no way to get in touch with this campground.. there’s a number you can text but our first attempt to reach out to them was left unanswered. The weather for both days and nights is calling for 100% chance of rain and thunderstorms. We were attempting to reschedule for a different date if there was availability but the owner after being impossible to teach on phone, was rude in text. So now the group had lost $100 deposit unless we go sit in cold stormy weather with 5 young kids. Sure they have a 10 day cancellation policy but it’s ridiculous to not bump the reservation 1 week to clear weather when there is openings. Don’t book here of last minute bad weather would keep you from camping. You WILL lose your deposit and you will not be able to reschedule. Our bad weather was forecasted 5 days ago....unfortunately for us, that was passed the 10 day policy. Ridiculous.
