I've never had an issue with obtaining imaging - if you need stat or emergent imaging, it WILL take time, but that is the nature of obtaining diagnostic images outside of a scheduled appointment. Sometimes scheduled appointments will get delayed if there are a significant number of emergent images that are ordered. That is the nature of healthcare, and it will continue to get worse as people begin and continue avoiding going to Emergency Departments due to COVID. Tip - if you need routine mammography, or routine scans... schedule an apt for first thing in the morning. The likelihood of being delayed is slim. ImageCare can answer questions about the procedure itself, but results will go to your ordering provider. Questions about the results and/or follow up care needs to be directed to your doctor. ImageCare IS fast in providing the results, and if you use FollowMyHealth (CapitalCare's 3rd party portal) you'll get the initial results in hours, even before your doctor has reviewed them. If you need emergency x-rays or imaging, they're good about being accommodating, but you may have to wait to be seen. There's no way around it and is true of any diagnostic testing. (It'd be true in an ER too - if someone is in the MRI machine, you're not going to fit in there with them. Then it needs to be reset and cleaned). The staff have always been lovely to work with - courteous, polite, and funny. When I had a scare with a mammogram and had to get a repeat test - it was scheduled for 2 weeks out. I called and was honest that I was freaking out and asked if there was anyway I could be seen sooner. The scheduler was totally understanding and found me a next day appointment in another office. I can't praise them enough for going above and beyond for me. They were awesome to work with.

I am fortunate enough to be a two year triple negative breast cancer survivor. During my journey, at the height of Covid, a new lump was found. Image care schedules me 9 agonizing days out for an ultrasound. I went somewhere else. Now, I’m due for my two year scan. The appointment with image care, 4 agonizing weeks. I called another imaging center, they can get me in within a week. I have been a cat scan technologist for over 20 years , I can tell you, professionally and as a patient that this kind of wait is asinine. I’d advise patients to call around and check out their options.

I got there early. I was back in my car before my appointment time. I also spent time looking at the actual scan.
