Thanks for the question. Mr. Feinberg, a North Country native, was an attorney and New York State Senator. In 1948, he sponsored the legislation that created the State University of New York. In 1977, the Benjamin F. Feinberg Library, named in honor of the Senator, opened on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.
