Tried to visit and buy a polo from the golf shop. They are so pretentious here they won’t even let you into the golf shop without being a member. Very disappointing. There is so much golf history at this course that if you are a true golfer you want to see. Definitely changed my opinion about this course.

That's unknown. To even be considered to be a member, you have to be recommended by at least 3 current members and you don't have to be rich. You have to be wealthy with deep generational family roots. There are actually five members in there now that their family names came off of the Mayflower. That's one of the stories I've heard and I cannot confirm or deny it.

After the tournament, it will be closed to the public as we are highly exclusive and do not want just anyone walking around pretending they are a member.
No, we are a very exclusive club, and you must be invited by a member to enter. However, if you need to ask, then you might as well give up and accept that you do not meet our lofty standards.
Unless you know one of the 1500 members, and possibly play as a guest, you will not be able to play there.
