This is one of the gems of the PA State Parks. Lovely, interesting, diverse! Great for day trips or an overnight at the campground. We took our camper trailer for a four night stay. Most sites have water near but only the full hook up sites have water on site so be cognizant of that during your planning. Hiking for many skill levels available. The park office team was very helpful. The park is clearly quite popular with the nearby communities as lots of people were in just for the day. Magically it did not feel crowded. These photos are from mid June. Many types of water lilies and lady slippers were beginning to bloom. Next time we will fit in time for kayaking!

Really beautiful and quiet state park. We picked this one because of the hiking trails in the area. The park itself has some really nicely maintained and easy walking trails. Outside of the park there are some more difficult and lengthy options as well. Campsites were wooded and nice but not entirely too spacious. The campground bathrooms were nice and clean as well! If there weren't a million other state parks to visit then I'd definitely return here!

I love this park. It's in my top 10 and close to my top 5. It's a high plateau park on the Allegheny Front and it offers excellent bird, butterfly and plant species. There are several great trails in the park as well as the magnificent Allegheny Front Trail. The park's lake is awesome with some large, marshy areas. There are some good boggy areas in the state forest too. The park has a swimming area, concession stand and good, clean bathrooms. This is a rural, beautiful park surrounded by dense forest. You can find solitude here.

I've been coming to this spot for over 20 years. It's an amazing place with great trails, amazing wildlife and plant species. It's a great place to stop and have a picnic, kayak, fish, swim, etc. No luck with any fish the last time but we'll keep trying.

It's not very secluded. It's more your typical State Park loop camping. It's very nice. The park is really well maintained. But the campgrounds are not very far apart.
