Did not clean room

Continually not distributing medication on time within a window of time. Ex. First came in gave wrong dosage Once corrected dosage someone changed the dosage and again gave wrong dose, when asked we received a variety of explanations and people to blame. On Sept. 30, 2019 family remained with resident until 8:45 pm, once the time for meds to be given (8:00 pm) no one came. Family endeavored to locate someone around 8:20 pm and could find no one. At 8:30 pm two helpers came to get resident ready for bed. They were asked about the 8 pm meds and neither helper was aware but went to get them. The meds (for Parkinson’s) were given at about 8:45 pm. Additional problem: At about 4:50pm a family member pushed the call button for someone to assist with taking the resident to the toilet. After about 30 minutes a helper arrived and said that the resident should release herself into her diaper and they would come back and clean her up. The resident wears a diaper in case of accidents only. The family was there until 8:45 pm that evening and no one came to clean her up. When 2 helpers did come at 8:30 pm, they were not there for the toilet run but to get the resident ready for bed. Meantime the resident sat in urine and feces for 3 1/2 hours. The call button was pressed during that time frame of 3 1/2 hours but not response was made. Here we are on October 1, 2019 at 4:55pm and the resident has not received her 4:00 pm meds. The lack of urgency and no consequences seems to an observer wonder who at this facility takes concern for the well being of these residents. Another issue: Sometime during the latter half of August 2019, Hospice reported to the family that the resident had fallen out of bed and was found face down on the floor partially under the hospital bed. The family inquired of several workers at Harbor Chase Wildwood as to how the resident fell out of bed. There was no finger pointing on the part of the family, but just wanted some insight to how this happened. The next day the Director showed the family member a picture on her cell phone, that was sent to her by an aide who took the picture with her cell phone of the resident attempting to get out of her bed, with the words “Ah ha, we caught her”. When speaking with the director she became defensive regarding this fall, even though she admitted that she was not present when the resident fell. The family told her that they never had and suspicions that this was caused by neglect but now with pictures (that were not authorized by a family member and also emailed) and the defensive attitude on the part of the director they wonder what really happened, and told the director that their actions did what they tried so hard to prevent, causing suspicion. With just these few happenings it makes one wonder how this Assisted Living Facility is able to continue without improvements. Not only are they demonstrating neglect but have violated basic privacy laws in taking pictures of a person that is not aware or given permission and also sharing that photo by texting it to someone’s cell phone.
