We ( my spouse Larry Rich and I) highly recommend Healthy Homes and their on-site team. Jonathan first did a thorough evaluation of the house, doing a blower test and sharing the RI images with us showing where and how much energy was lost due to lack of insulation and poor sealing of the structure. He then provided a detailed, written explanation of what was needed (with photos) and the process they would follow. They removed old insulation, installed new (blown-in cellulose and spray foam where appropriate), caulked windows and doors, removed old AC’s and countless other tasks. At the end, they relocated all fixtures, siding and the like that had to be removed for the work and did a very complete cleanup. From the first visit through our last walkthrough yesterday with Mario, they have been extremely professional, informative and helpful. Mario led his team through a number of unexpected difficulties, solving each one creatively and thoroughly, explaining to us as they went along. Mario, Adam, Elvis, Brandon and Dalton were each focused and diligent. Lexi responded to any other issues with timely emails or call, while Jonathan stopped by a couple of times to see how the crew and we were doing. We are confident that the work was well-executed and that our home is now well-sealed and insultated, which will make a major difference in energy bills. But in addition to all that, we actually enjoyed having them here, which is something one could not say very often about having a work crew in your home for eight days--such was the quality of their work and their genuine courtesy, kindness, and concern for the client. We are extremely happy with the results and know that we chose the right company! In our humble estimation, Healthy Home sets the gold standard for assessing and upgrading the energy efficiency of your home.

Healthy home has been amazing to us! All of their crew members led by Mario is nothing short of awesome. They came to our house to do some insulation work and get ready for winter. Hayden was a great consultant and Lexi was very easy to communicate with over the phone and email. Adam, Sam and Brandon came on time everyday and worked tremendously. When the job was done me and my daughters were almost sad to say goodbye since we got along so great. They're knowledgeable, fast and professional. Although it's pricy, you're in good hands with them.

Definitely highly recommended! We had a energy consultation and insulation installation done by Healthy Home in early summer 2022 to improve poor insulation and high energy bills in a 1960s-built house. Healthy Home was extremely professional throughout, from initial consultation to scheduling to the actual installation. They weren't the cheapest quote we received, but they were the most professional and offered a more detailed and thorough energy improvement plan. They did a very comprehensive initial consultation including a blower test and IR images, and made a list of recommendations. We chose to go with only some of the recs (for overall budget reasons), but they were great and no-pressure about what we wanted to include. Services included: removing old insulation (via vacuum, so low mess), air sealing in the attic, blown-in cellulose in the attic, insulating rim joists, spray foam in a few uninsulated spots, and removing old through-wall A/Cs. Their team really was a pleasure to work with, especially Hayden (consult), Lexi (office/scheduling), and Matt and Sal (installation). Very responsive to emails, clean and tidy during install, and willing to fix small mistakes. We would definitely give Healthy Home a call for any future related work.

Generally speaking…. a musty smell is caused by increased levels of relative humidity and moisture. Your Healthy Home Evaluation will determine the sources of moisture and relative humidity in your home. We will then provide you with a solution to the source of the problem, treating the “disease” not just putting a bandaid on the symptom.

How is a Healthy Home Evaluation different than an energy audit?

Healthy Home Energy & Consulting, Inc. | Sep 18, 2021
Healthy Home Energy & Consulting, Inc. | Sep 18, 2021

A traditional energy audit may only go as far as looking at your home energy use, and comfort. With a Healthy Home Evaluation, we take the traditional energy audit further by including health-oriented diagnostics, like indoor air quality testing. We utilize a “house as a system” approach along with the latest scientific instrumentation and our expertise in building science to identify/solve, your energy efficiency, comfort, and indoor pollution issues. The goal of a Healthy Home Evaluation is to learn how we can help make your home a healthier place to live, while also reducing your energy consumption and increasing the comfort of your home.
