My dog had an appointment today. With the pandemic, I was a little hesitant on her going in without me. Apparently, she thought it was a play date for her with new people. All of the staff I spoke with on the phone were very friendly and they all said how much they adored my dog. I’m sure she will be happy in 2 weeks when we show up for her check up appointment. She even had to get a shot today and still thought she was there to be pet by everyone she saw. Thank you for being so kind. Definitely recommend over the other places in Gettysburg. Want to edit my review to add that I continue to take my dog here, and will continue. Dr Skoog is amazing with Raven!

This office is too busy to serve its patients in a reasonable time frame. I called to get my dog's rabies vaccine renewed. A nearly two month wait! I asked if they knew of any rabies clinics. I was told I should Google that. I don't work at the office and even I know you can go to Tractor Supply. Why would they not have suggestions like that ready for their patients, knowing how long of a wait they are on? On another occasion, my dog needed a painful and bothersome growth on his paw removed...6 weeks! The dog took care of it himself by working day and night to chew it off before the vet could deliver care. I hate to think about what the wait would be in an emergency. When you do finally get in, you wait at least 30 minutes to be seen. Great with the animals, but severely lacking in patient management.

I am amending this review as of July 17, 2022. While everything I said in my original review is still true, as far as it goes, anyway. It did not take pricing into consideration. I have not had a dog in many years and thought maybe the veterinary prices were just THAT expensive! Every time I have been to this vet with my new puppy since June 1, which has been several times with shots puppy basics, and one visit that involved an X-Ray. The charges are $200 to $400 every visit. I asked for a estimate for neutering and it was between $500 and $600! Finally this possessed me to call around to other vets to just compare prices and I found the charges for most all services to be about half what Confederate Woods charges. The sad part is many vets in the area are not taking new patients. Fortunately I was already on a waiting list at another vet and so glad Of it. As always, competition is a good thing to keep service level high and prices low. At the moment they do not have much competition and in my opinion they are taking full advantage of that fact! ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————- I appreciated that I was worked in immediately with my new puppy even though I’m new to the practice. I found everyone there to be very down to earth, conscientious, friendly and of course, loving of animals!
