When my kiln stopped working and I had to call and trouble shoot and I couldn't be happier with the customer service I received. The girl on the phone lexy was very detailed and walked me through every step and had so much patience, she was friendly and kind. The next morning i drove my kiln into the warehouse and had the pleasure of meeting jen who fixed my kiln and was also very friendly and knowledgeable.

Questions & Answers

What does PF means on controller while kiln on?

Julie Schroeppel | Jul 20, 2022
Jen-Ken Kilns | Jul 20, 2022

Out of context, it's hard to answer, but it's usually the prefix of a model that describes the Perfect Fire computer board. Feel free to call and talk shop! We're always happy to help. -jenn

I am getting a warning code on my Jen-ken kiln. Serial # 020097. FEC 1397. What does this mean

Mary Engelmeyer | Dec 22, 2021
Jennifer Ratican | Dec 22, 2021

It's likely FtC, and due to a cooling ramp rate that exceeds how fast the kiln can cool when it turns off the elements. Call the shop Tuesday and one of our technicians will be happy to help you.

My Oval-13 recently had the FtL display warning come up after a firing was completed. I know it stands for firing too long ...does this indicate that one of the controllers is not functioning properly and if so, how can I determine which one?

Jen-Ken Kilns | Sep 18, 2021

Hi Carol, When you get an error code that indicates that the kiln is not heating at the rate you've asked it, it is usually one of three things. A relay failure, an element burned out, or a ramp rate that was excessive for the kiln. Give us a call and we're always happy to help troubleshoot. We're out of the office a lot for the holidays, but we'll be here until 4pm today! Merry Christmas, Jenn

Can I put a prepared piece of glass directly on the kiln floor for firing if the floor is kiln washed and I put kiln paper under my piece

Faye Peck | Sep 18, 2020
Jen-Ken Kilns | Sep 18, 2020

Hi Faye! Is this a brick kiln or a fiber kiln? This sounds like the kind of shop talk that is better in a phone call. Give us a call if you want to chat! 863-648-0585, mon-fri 8-4. Jenn
