Today I visited the complex for my physical and upon my arrival, I saw that masks were required. No problem, but I quickly realized that I didn’t have any masks in my car. A woman walking through the lobby saw me looking for masks and told me that she had just been in to the urgent care and gotten a mask. So, I walked into urgent care and was rudely told that these masks were for their own clinic only. Before I could even say anything, the receptionist next to the main one made a snarky comment about “they sure are”. I was fuming. Ladies, you work for the UNC Health Care System. You are a reflection of of this entity and you were a poor example today. This is not a private practice and if you are going to require masks when most people don’t have them readily available anymore, then you should expect a lot of people to need them. As an alternative, leave them in the lobby for people. I volunteer with UNC Health Care at their hospital in Chapel Hill, delivered my son at UNC, have all of my doctors through UNC, and I have never experienced rudeness like that.

My wife has a persistent ear infection with swelling, tries to get over there before they close at 8pm. At 7:47pm gets told the latest you can check in is 7:45pm, refuses to see her. You just took the "urgent" and "care" out of urgent care, but I bet everyone clocked out on time, so good job!

Every time I have been, it has been a great experience (not considering the circumstances for needing to go to the urgent care. HA!). Staff are wonderful and kind. It doesn’t feel like an urgent care which I would think is a win!

Yes, it’s me Diane Mary Lore, Nurse Practitioner. All because of this Nurse is the reason the the negative review. My husband fell off a ladder on Wednesday and wanted to wait to go to doctor, so he finally said yes and I made online appt. Got there everyone up front was pleasant, nurse was pleasant, THEN in came Diane! I could see from the moment she came in she had her defense up due to the (falling off ladder) in the notes. She never looked at my husbands swollen wrist, never pulled his shirt up to look at his chest or back, never listened to his lungs. I’m not sure why a supposedly Nurse Practitioner didn’t want to take the time to at least act like she cared about him. Instead she through her hands up the moment she read ladder fall and immediately called Dr. Quigley who also advised, without looking at my husbands injuries to go to the ER. My point is all this advise was given without Dianne Lore or Dr. Quigley even glancing at his wrist or back. The lack of bedside manner and professionalism on the Practitioners of of action was unbelievable to me and has a negative across the entire UNC Network. I would like someone above this location to call to discuss and change our minds about UNC Network. I have great insurance and have been in this Network for many years. But one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch when it comes to health care. The least nurse Lore could of done was show compassion for my husband and at least examined him instead coming in showing negative, defensive and argumentative come backs. To my questions about why they wouldn’t X-ray his chest or wrist. Wish I could add a picture of his wrist.
