Chapel Hill FD is a career only department, however New Hope, Eno, and White Cross fire departments are all in the area of chapel Hill and they do take volunteers
CO detectors are not distributed through the Fire Department, but a crew will come out and check yours if there is a concern about possible CO. If you think there is a CO problem, or anyone feels sick or nauseous, evacuate and call 911. Otherwise, there are a multitude of CO detectors that can be purchased from home improvement stores. If you need help installing one, a crew or fire marshal can assist with that as well. To speak with someone in administration, call the non-emergency main number at (919) 968-2781
