It’s a no wonder so many vets have trouble afterwards they come back home. The Intentionality and Urgency with treatment and or care for veterans is Underwhelming. For instance my husband called for his medication two weeks before he was out to place a refill request. As of Tuesday still no medication and supposedly a rush order was on its way. Fast forward to Saturday still nothing… So you basically letting a vet that’s on depression medication go without and live thru the side effects of not taking his meds and when ever he does get them. He will then have to restart the process of it taking effect. Day 3 of no medication…I’m so happy my husband is not severely depressed!

I was visiting a friend in the area when he had a procedure here. I came with him to see if I could refill my blood pressure medication, I was not able to get a refill as I am from another state. The parking is a very compact multiple six floor parking garage and was full to the sixth deck on a Thursday. you show i.d. to leave and not enter. best part was a covered walkway to the building from the fourth floor of the parking deck.

From the initial referral via the MHC remote clinic to the DURVA my surgery was STELLAR! The entire staff of the Durham VA made you feel like they were proud to work there. I received exemplary care from the surgeon, operating room, pre op, postop, lab, infectious disease, nursing staff, occupational and physical therapy and remote nursing. I had been fighting a hip infection for 16 months and they assigned a care team that performed flawlessly and a turnaround within 2 weeks from initial contact to release to home health Upon departure I have nothing but gratitude and accolades about the DURHAM VA MEDICAL CENTER

If youre parking in the parking garage (free for vets) you will take the walkway into the hospital. Theres a helpdesk right by the blue elevators too if you need it. The blue elevators are across from starbucks. Hope this helps!
There is parking for Veterans in front of the hospital, on the side of the hospital as well as a parking structure in the back of the hospital . Hope this helps.
Yes you can call 9192860411 and ask for the Patient Advocate Office
It's on the first floor in the main hospital right has you come in the main entrance.
Give the VA A CALL
There are a few local hotels, there's the Cambria across the street and then there's the Millennium Hotel which is just a few miles away. You could contact each of them and find out what kind of special deals they will offer under these circumstances. I know I had a out of town guests stay at the Millennium, and we held a party there; I was rather pleased with their service. have not stayed at the Cambria, and I don't know anyone who has, but it is very convenient because it's right across the street.
VA will give you a number to call social worker
Family only
The VA often provides 1 set of eyeglasses per year. During the exam, we will determine your glasses prescription. We will print this out for you and give you the list of VA selected opticals that provide you with your glasses benefit.

Can you just call and press 0 for the operator?
Exactly
Call the Durham VA and let them know you need to set up a primacy care
Depends on the department.
based on what I know and have seen, usual there is no problems there... there will always be some help given to you if you ask the right people. Keep in mind each place you go to my have a slightly different answer plus their covid requirements.. I would say call the front desk or office.
I'm not sure but the number to ask is 919-286-0411 ext. 176073. They should be able to answer that for you.
Through secure messages on Myhealth.va.gov
Not always, but if you require a specialist, it may take a bit to schedule
You can dial 919.286.0411 and asked to be transferred to that department
9192860411 press 0 for a operator ask for the room. Don't forget to include A or B in the room number.
Yes, some. There's more in the parking garage (Garage A).
I'm not all too familiar with the process but this national VA number might be able to help 1800-827-1000 and if they can't I'd try to call this hospital hit 0 for an operator (919) 286-0411 then talk to the operator about the help you need and they should be able to transfer you to the proper person to talk to
Non-VA Care for a vendor authorization for care outside of the VA.

Possibly need to be at surgery nurses station at 6: a.m.
I think you would have to have your physician or yourself contact Veterans Choice to request meds either through the V A or a local pharmacy for reimbursement.
I've never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes.

Basement floor, there are plenty of signs once you get to the area. If youre having problems seeing, just ask anyone :) good luck!

You call 919-286-0411 and then dial 2. Then be prepared to be on hold for up to an hour, then once you reach a person, they will transfer you to another pe4son , who will put you back on gold again, and this will just go on and on until finally you will reach someone who will hang up on you. Repeat this process until you either finally reach the appropriate person, or you get a message that says, we are now closed , please call back during regular business hours.
