Although not ideal, they do well with what they have - Idaho doesn't allow local option tax to support transit. The system works rather well for daytime commutes on main corridors like State and Fairview. We've saved thousands and many hours wasted attending to a steering wheel thanks to the ValleyRide bus system.

VRT’s poor management and refusal to listen to their ridership is about the most frustrating and confusing thing I’ve ever had to deal with. They have a monopoly on the public transit market and thus can do whatever they want, regardless of it is the right decision, with no consequences. They held open houses to talk about route changes earlier in the year. Many people including myself presented in depth feedback on various route changes. VRT took it upon themselves to ignore any and all feedback given and even admitted to making changes to some routes because, and I quote, “we made the decision in house and felt it was right.” How can people who don’t even ride the bus and probably never have, (the office is in Meridian and they don’t even operate the bus in Meridian,) make any decisions based on what they “feel”. The proposed changes to just about everything on State St. go against the wishes of just about everyone I’ve talked to personally and the elimination of the 9x goes against the wishes of dozens of riders and eliminates a closer, more frequent bus route from users from Eagle, Star and anyone really who lives more west than Glenwood. With a massive multi hundred unit apartment complex getting ready to open on State near Eagle, VRT has eliminated any chance for a public transit opportunity from that area, from the people who would use it the most. Please put employees of VRT on the busses, get the feedback from people right then and there, see where they stop, see what people want, stop making decisions based on your “feelings.”

Some of the bus are just right down rude. Unwilling to help an upset customer. Not mention that 50% of their driver can’t speak English

We have many different possible options. Please call 345-7433 (ride). A customer service agent can assist you with this trip and any future trips.

How do I make a complaint about rude behavior by a bus driver? I called down to the transit station & got hung up on by the operator. She was more interested in screening the call vs. fielding the complaint. Until I got upset- then just hung up.

Go to the website to file a formal complaint. From the homepage, scroll down to "" Support" and select "Feedback". Describe your experience in detail: route #, driver's name, etc.
