This place literally saved my life from the years 2009-2012. If it wasn’t for the Hutton house I swear I would’ve end up dead. Yeah sure there’s rules you’ve gotta abide by that teens would find frustrating but it helps them in the long run. I was super scared at first since I thought it was going to be like one of those abusive group homes but it’s the complete opposite. I can’t speak for how it’s been run in these past few years but the years that I had to go back countless times due to abusive family & homelessness, it was a Heaven sent blessing. Despite the “restricting rules” it was still very fun doing group therapy, going on fun outings & just feeling like a little family with the people you’re surrounded with.

Hi, thank you for reaching out to us. Hutton House is a state-licensed temporary shelter program in Modesto for runaway, homeless and youth in crisis who are ages 13-17. You can give us a call at (209) 526-5544 and we can help you find the appropriate resources for you and your family. If you are interested in counseling services, please contact our counseling clinic at (209) 526-1440.
I think it's just a shelter for 13-17 . It's an amazing shelter and the Hutton house staff members are loving and caring to the kids. I went there for 2 months until I turned 18 and I didn't even want to leave. They became like family to me.
No, I dont believe they allow pets. However, please give them a call, and ask them. They might even have a solution to this. I am an animal lover too. I could be bare to part with one of my babies either. Hutton House is a wonderful place, that will allow you to stay, up to 2 weeks at a time. If your two weeks are up, you will only need to find someplace else to stay, for 24 hours in between stays. After doing so, you can go back for up to another 2 weeks, if need be. They are about family reunification but, if that is nor possible, they will hook you up with services to help you into a safe home. They have wonderful counseling services, and take kids on outings a lot. Like Gallo Theater, Movies etc. The house is large and really nice. My son went their several times, during the height of his drug addiction. They never gave up on him, and he didnt always make things easy for them. My heart and prayers go out to you, that you will get the help and services that are right for U.
