My cat lost interest in food, and when I brought him to the clinic I was told that he needed teeth cleaning and shots, which we did but he progressively got worse, I made another appointment a week after and was told that he has an ulcer on his tongue and it will go away by itself, just give him painkiller and meds for appetite. A week later he was barely alive and I was given an option to euthanize him. Of course I went to another clinic and the test showed that ulcer turned out to be cancer. So let me summarize it: it's either the vet was incompetent or just charged me over $1,500 for his "services" knowing that the cat is dying (hence euthanasia offer, why else somebody would say that after simple teeth cleaning??) I could have gone to oncology in UC Davis for the clinical trial, or start different treatment , but I lost precious time due to the vet incompetence. I wish I stayed away from this clinic. 😪

All points of contact were exceptional and I am so thankful to have found Santa Clara Pet Hospital. Everyone was clear in communication and provided a sense that they cared for me and my pet. Read on if you’re into lengthy, boring details. We just moved into the area and our golden retriever developed some issues that (after googling symptoms) led me to believe it might be foxtails. Let’s just say it’s stressful trying to find a vet in this area. After calling 4 other vets and being told earliest availability was 2 weeks out I lucked out that Santa Clara Pet Hospital just had a cancellation that allowed us to book the very next day. Michelle was my first point of contact and she clearly explained their policy for new patients was pre-pay $91 that covered the office visit and was non-refundable if cancelled within 24 hrs or arrive late (which we were already in that window so was a moot point - the other vet offices I called had same policy). I arrived 10 minutes early and they came out in less than 5 minutes (they are still observing COVID protocols where you phone to let them know you arrived and have you wait in the parking lot while they examine your pet). Dr. Ackerman listened to my explanation of reason for visit, took our “furball” for examination and had him back out within 20 min at which point she discussed her diagnosis. She never rushed me when I had further questions (despite the unusually hot 95+ afternoon!) and provided guidance on what to watch for that would indicate a need to return. Overall couldn’t have had a better experience.

Great vet, really cared for my dogs, and made sure they have what they need to be happy and healthy

As first-timers, they did a great job for our cat

The Vets come outside to talk to owners then they take the dogs while owners wait outside.
