Usually depends on the size/weight. But if you go on a free day, doesn't cost anything.
You can also check with pet street street. Last i onew rhey had a book for people lookng for animals

They are closed today, send them a message on Facebook, they are very attentive and will answer quite quickly.
There are couple of programs in this area that will help you - Call the SPCA and they can inform you of what is available.
They may spay/neuter animals that are in their care. They do host events for low cost spay/neuter as one was recently posted on their Facebook page
