Darling Field

I grew up at Darling Field in the 50’s and early 60’s. Tim Danylak, Ron Ferdico, Bobby Dolman, Jim Dunn, playing home run ball behind the football field bleachers. GHS played their football games there then and we use to jump the fences near the railroad tracks and coal yard to avoid paying at the gate. Summer camp programs at the field house…it was our go to for everything. Great memories. I broke my leg jumping off one of the swings trying to get as high as we could get to see how far we could go then jump, pretty stupid.
