I loved this museum. They had so many original artifacts from the movie that really surprised me. I liked how there was a different display for every character to talk about the actor as a person and their role in the movie. So many fun facts I didn't know! I loved the speech the staff gave before opening the door to the exhibit. There is also 3 videos you can watch about the movie as well to further your education. I liked the movie theater as well. You can watch the Wizard of Oz while you are there to refresh your memory as well!

This was like the cherry on top for experiencing Wamego. You don't have to be a fan of the Wizard of Oz, but it sure helps. So much fun going through all the items. Also t hey change things out as they have so many items, so if you go more than once you'll find something new each time.

Cool little museum covering the Wizard of Oz and associated works. My bf had no idea there were so many more books in Baum’s series. The original art was super cool and the products inspired throughout the decades were neat to see. We really liked the documentaries playing around the exhibits that gave more info on the movie and its stars. I wish we’d stayed to watch everything (including full movie) but nearby bbq was calling my name.

1 to 2 hours depending on interests there's so much to take in hundreds of historical items directly from the franchise and movie....books, costumes, games, dolls entire franchise history it's here! Awesome visit!
At this time, we do require that masks be worn once you walk in. It must be worn while in the gift shop & going through the museum! Thank you for asking!
Depending how young and if they have seen the movie before. My 10 year old son and niece liked it. They show the movie in a little theater room that is cool. I think if they around that age they would like it. The museum tells the history of Oz. Most of everything are in big display cases. I don't think 6 and under would enjoy it much bc there isn't anything really there for them to do but look and have someone read the history to them, which I personally would think they would find boring and find uninteresting. The older the better...especially if they have seen the movie. There are a few wax figures that looks like each character, Dorothy and toto, good and bad witch, tin man etc. But you can't touch anything. I hope this helps.
I'm not sure. I'll see if I can check that. Edit: I just checked, and the answer is yes they do. You can check from their website.
no scooters
I would say you have to stop by .... why not.
There is parking by the Old Dutch Mill about 2 blocks away. There is also semi parking along Sandusky Ave where "Cheers" is, just inside of town, coming from I-70. Both are accessible at the first light from that direction.
We are quite "Toto" Friendly. Dogs in carriers or small enough to be carried are more than welcome to travel through the museum with their parents. We welcome larger dogs to hang out with our employees in the office during the visit! There is a fantastic park down the yellow brick road to stretch legs before getting back out on the road.
The OZ Museum is located downtown and there's plenty of parking downtown. I would encourage you to walk the downtown because businesses have an OZ theme and you will have a memorable time. Enjoy!
I would go to liberal first. They are different but both worth it. Wamego has other good places to visit

Hi there! We suggest parking your RV at the nearby church or city park just down the road. That should be the best place for you. Thanks for asking!
Hi there! Yes, we do allow pets! Toto-sized pets can be carried while you go through the museum, and bigger pets are held with us behind the counter so you can enjoy your visit. Thanks for asking!
After Labor Day, the hours switch from 9-6, to 10-5. And they are only closed three days out of the year, which would be for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Hope this helps!
They have in the past. They have several items with little "donated by so and so" cards by them.
Idont know if theydo or not, but the folks are very friends , it is a museum that u go at the speed you want to look at items on display
There is handicapped right out front and it's a very short walk. One of the people in our group is handicapped and it was perfect.
