Our office provided Avmed as employee health insurance. Never could straighten out billing issues. Supervisors phone number but then never answer calls. Wrote to COO no reply. Unable to reach anyone at corporate.

I was misinformed buy the authorization dept, no one cared enough to help, I was in hold several times for more than 30 minutes. I was given different information and instructions every time I called. Basically I called to verify if a patient’s insurance plan participates with a Hospital, I was told yes, by several employees, I was given reference numbers, then I called to verify if an authorization was needed, I was informed no tauthorization was needed, when I called 3 days later to doble check I was told again that the insurance plan was participating with the hospital but that an authorization was needed and that they couldn’t help me get it, I would have to fax the request, I did, when I called to follow up I was given a new fax because they were behind review the documents they received in the fax number that is in their authorization request form, I sent to the new fax number and when I called back to follow up I waited for 42 minutes and no one answered, while I was holding I received a call from the authorization dept to tell me that they could no approved the request because the hospital was not in network with the patient’s plan. All this after I asked several employees from avmed to verify that the patient’s plan was in network with the insurance. I asked to speak to a supervisor, they couldn’t transfer me, they took a message and told me that a supervisor will return my call by the end of the day, no one returned my call. No one cared, it was really horrible dealing with them, I really hope I never have to deal with this insurance again, and that no patient has to go through this

It’s not the insurances job to diagnose patients, that’s solely in the doctor’s scope.

The worst service I've ever had. There is NO customer service. They do not answer their phones.
NO RETURN PHONE CALLS FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I would contact AVMED... That doesn't sound right...
