Contrary to all the fun pics and the experiences of others, here's my assessment of Village Cycle Center on Wells. I tagged along with a buddy who needed to get a new inner tube for his bike tire. As a seasoned retail auditor, LP specialist, and manager, I was definitely NOT impressed by the service. Most of the employees seemed to be just roaming about, joking and socializing with each other and there was one guy (I'm guessing the MOD) who was directing customers as they came in, and he was actually helpful. It seemed like unless you wanted to buy a new bike, they couldn't have cared less. So it's a good idea to know what you need ahead of time. Even as we went to checkout, standing right in front of the counter that was only busy with a girl doodling and 2 other guys doing naught but chatting we had to ask who we paid. We could have just walked out without paying and there wouldn't have been anyone who noticed. On the UP side this place is merchandised very well (could use a little cleaning though). The bikes are positioned in a way so that whatever angle you're looking at them from, it's very easy to focus on just the one you're looking at without distraction from others only inches apart.

I liked this place at the first time when I visited it. They are a dealer of Trek and have a number of different models of that brand. Consultants are great guys. They could explain all of the differences between the models, and give me some great advices. They also provide you 2 check ups during the year ( the basic one after 30 riding hours and the one after a year or so). So I bought my first brand new bike there! I realized it was a right place!

Best bike shop in chicago! Super helpful and informative, without being the least bit pushy. In addition to my bike purchase, I bought a helmet that was somehow mis-packaged and ended up being too small. They replaced it with the right one no questions asked. Highly recommend.

No
We have a compressor hose available for use during business hours, and a floor pump that it out front 24 hours a day. :)
I'm not sure what those are, but you can call the store and they will give you all the answers you need to your questions 🤔
Masking, social distancing, capacity limitation.
They have many different tire options. If you call they will let you know what they have. They are very nice and not intimidating. If you aren't sure what type of wheel or tires u need, you can bring your bike right into the store and they will help you
They carry bikes from: BMX to Off Road to Hybrid to Mountain to Fat Bikes.
This forum goes to google guides not tje shop. You will have to call and ask them. However I do t believe that they do.
Yes we do! We carry Dahon folding bikes.
They can assemble bikes. Cost would depend on the type of bike amd what exactly you want done. Call for exact pricing.
