Was taking a camping trip with my wife and 3 kids I'm a veteran my kids needed to use the bathroom so we pulled into jasper park to use the bathroom and hit the road again the park rangers told me we could not use the restrooms without paying for a day pass I told them my kids just needed to go to the bathroom and we were leaving. They then said sorry for your luck but you have to pay. As a veteran I feel very unwelcome. Even with my vet pass

Little spots to enter the water. Please beware, whether adult and especially kids. A few short feet from the bank, the water is deceptively swift, cold, and deep. There are great lunch spots to bbq, and a playground for littles. I've never done it, but we've seen many people fishing here. Come early on weekends. Oh, also an entirely fenced dog park. $5 fee.

Large Grassy Park, sits on the river, has picnic shelters and barbeques at the time I went there it was a very deserted park, however its looks likeit could be busy at times. Worth checking it out

It's an ok state park. Seems like one to host a get together more than go on a moderate hike. There are hiking trails but pretty minimal and along the riverside.

If you plan on hosting an event or coming with a large group, yes. If you are just coming by yourself or with a small group you should be absolutely fine to more or less just walk in (after paying parking fee, of course lol).
