This company is dishonest. We signed on with them and paid our initial payment. They were to send payment notices. We purchased this insurance in a new house out of state and then went through the moving process. A couple of months later I contacted our agent and she informed me that Fed Nat had cancelled our policy. They said they mailed us four times but we never received these. They also didn’t tell our agent that they were cancelling our policy. When confronted they would reinstate because it was over 30 days cancelled. This is crazy. They had our email and phone numbers and could have contacted us or our agent. DO NOT USE THEM.

I have had home insurance with FEDNAT for over 10 years , I have never had any claims . They cancelled my policy along with other 60K costumers in Florida , right before beginning of a hurricane season . Such a shame .

In May 2022, my agent has helped me to cancel my flood policy with FedNat. After that my agent has contacted them twice and I have contacted them once, but until now I still haven't got my refund. They claimed there was system issue that my cancellation is still pending and that required tech team to take a look. They used the same excuse for all these three times we contacted them. I don't see this is going anywhere. Why does this take so long for tech team to resolve the simple issue?

Charles- turn them into your state dept of insurance. That is the only way to force them to move out on your claim. Also, a public adjuster will take a percent but may be the way to go to force them to process your claim under the policy you pay for.
I would HIGHLY recommend that you make sure you dot your i's and cross your t's with FedNat. As soon as you can file what's called a "Proof of Loss" and make sure its filed PROPERLY to put FedNat on notice AFTER you have an Independent Inspection done of your property. This can be done by a Licensed Contractor who will go over EVERY inch of your home from top to bottom and inside out. Before hiring a PA consider they will take 10% IF your claim is a National Emergency then IF an Atty has to be hired + up to 40% more. Do NOT take the lowball insurance est and frankly do NOT wait for it!! IF you do NOT file a "POL" any ins comp w ANY CLAIM can drag your case on for years!! Trust me I'm in the middle of a multi million dollar lawsuit right now w them for Hurricane Irma as they are FORCING me to live in a home totalled in mold!! IF I had NOT filed my POL I would NOT be where I am now. FedNat was NOT happy when it was filed. It put them on notice, holding them to accountability.

Maria, We are unable to answer this general question. Coverage is determined by the policy forms so each claim is adjusted based on that scenario. All the best, The Fednat Team
