Headwaters is a remarkable place with the remarkable history. The town of Falk California which has almost been completely swallowed up by the forest it's such a cool historical note in time.

Plenty of places to rest. Lots of informational signs. Sad that the river is almost dried up. Poor fish.

I believe the gates are closed at sunset. As far as remnants, 10 years ago there were a lot more things to see. Unfortunately, the Forrest has swallowed up most of the stuff. However you can see some stuff thru out the first mile of the trail.
Dogs are allowed the first 3 miles or so on leash or voice control
The first mile or so is paved and flat to gently sloping. There are numerous bird species along the trail but I wouldn't call it a birding hot spot.
